They also run a winter night shelter - seven town centre churches (all denominations) work together to turn their church halls into a place of refuge for those who would otherwise sleep rough. It rotates round each church every day so there is always a place for a hot meal and a safe place to sleep. I think what gets to me most is that for at least a few months (the coldest, anyway) the guests have a safe place to relax and rest without fear of attack, theft or abuse.
