Blog Action Day: A Few Words about Food

My new blog debuts to correspond with Blog Action Day, which coincides with World Food Day.  Blog Action Day  is inviting participating bloggers to write about anything pertaining to food.
Humans and animals require food to survive.  Food is one of the major topics each of us think of on a daily basis.  Many of us take the availability of food for granted just accepting that it is readily available in great abundance and variety.  While for others the quest for something to eat is a daily struggle and they may often be hungry.  Why the disparity?

The eyes of all look to you,
and you give them their food at the proper time.
You open your hand
and satisfy the desires of every living thing.

Psalm 145: 15-16 (New International Version)

  1. I'm in. I don't go to church anymore so I get my spiritual food where I can.

  2. Thank you, Suze. I'm finding that I can count on you for support. My goal in this blog will not to be too churchy or scholarly, but merely to present an interesting Bible verse and then present something for thought. Thanks for backing me on this one.

  3. In my new job, I deal with student hunger every day. It's not a pretty thing either.

Feeding others whether it is actual food for the body or soul (praises and kind words) cannot be done ahead of time or too late or it's purpose isn't accomplished.

  4. I couldn't be more thankful for the food thats being given to me via your blog, Lee! My heart is so touched with ,Love. I know that coming in touch with you was/is definitely a blessing form God!

I think about food all the time. My taste buds never let me forget about it! I never take my mouth nor taste buds for granted- I know that they are a blessing from,God and it is a blessing to taste and enjoy food!

Yes to have the provision of food is a blessing! I for one don't like to throw anything out- for it reminds me of all that are in need!

So thanks for sharing this, Lee. It increases my memory and touches my heart to remember those that are without!!

I hope you realize what is being given through you, Lee. You can't or maybe you can relate to whats going on on this side of things- its simply amazing!!

May your abundance of Love touch and effect many souls!!!

  5. Simply amazing! I know without a doubt that it wasn't by chance that you came my way, Lee! You are simply a blessing to me!

I've read several of "Just a few words" and I am so filled with, Love! I don't know if you know how you are affecting others that read these pages- however the spirit of love in you definitely is effect my heart!

I am overjoyed with what I am receiving here! Without a doubt I am thankful for the food that is arriving from you!!

I agree that food is such a blessing- not only food, so are tastebuds, the tonge and the mouth-lol! Really I enjoy food so much and I'm so thankful for it.

Yes- there are a lot of people that don't have the provision of food due to their circumstances-and it is a blessing to give as well as receive.

I thank you so much for the membrance of feeding the poor- it causes me to be more mindful of what I have and what others dont and to do something about it!!

My you receiving continual blessings in abundace, Lee!!!

  6. Betty, Thank you for the double dose of kind words. The encouragement keeps me hopeful that others are touched by my contemplations. This blog is part of my personal meditations, but when anyone can share in it then it's an added blessing to me.
Thank you for leaving the comments.
