Show Me the Way, Lord

Worried!Image by photoloni via Flickr

 Search me, O God, and know my heart;
Try me and know my anxious thoughts;
 And see if there be any hurtful way in me,
And lead me in the everlasting way.

Psalm 139:23-24

New American Standard Bible (NASB)

          Lord, I call out to you to hear me, judge me, and teach me.  I am tired, but I want to go on--I must go on. There are many worries on my mind.  I call on you to lift me up and guide me to a better place.  I want to be useful in this world, but more than that I want to be used to exalt you and the glory of the kingdom that is to come.

          My thoughts are like a battlefield where war is waged against me and against others.  Let peace overtake me and confidence in your way lead me onward to fight the righteous battle against those who want to distract us from your promise of salvation and victory.
