The Ultimate Valentine

For You, Lord, are kind and ready to forgive,
rich in faithful love to all who call on You.

This is the time of year when thoughts of love are in the air. Gifts of candy, flowers, and other tokens of remembrance will pass between friends, lovers, and spouses as the deepest of human feelings are expressed. But human love is fragile.

Misunderstandings may sever relationships. Love is not always forever for we humans who sometimes have a difficult time with forgiveness. Our memories are often short as today's love can smolder into tomorrow's distrust and disgust.

Then there is the One whose love is unfailing and eternal. He is patient with us and sets the example for the way we should be. God's love for us never dies. Tell Him that you love Him. Let Him know that you want Him in your life. He is there for you in your times of greatest need.

Though the mountains be shaken

   and the hills be removed,
yet my unfailing love for you will not be shaken
   nor my covenant of peace be removed,”
   says the LORD, who has compassion on you.
