2013 A to Z Challenge Reflections: A Few Words
Of my four blogs entered in the Blogging from A to Z Challenge, this was the one that I was most intent on seeing through to the end. With A Few Words I was on a mission. This was the blog that contained the most important message that I wanted to convey to the world.
My daily visits were few with probably an average of five or so comments per day and 150 visitors each day. I did not make note of my new followers but I don't think I got any more than 20 or so new followers in April. Last year I presented videos on this blog, but this year with posts of text only I received about five hundred more visitors during the month than I had in 2012.
Considering the amount of promotion this blog receives, I am not displeased with the amount of visits I had during April. I will assume that most of my visits came directly from the A to Z Linky List though there were a few links on other blogs from which visits came. My thanks to Pam Williams at 2 Encourage for providing a link that brought this blog several visitors.
I'm sure many faith bloggers share my situation of few blog comments and visits when compared to blogs of other topics. We are all on a mission that is not always appreciated by many who stop by, but when our message falls upon one who most needs the message then our work is not in vain.
The A to Z Blog Challenge offers an opportunity to reach a few more bloggers who would not normally find us. This April work is not wasted if it plants one seed in the heart of a searching soul or helps to make a life change for someone who needs to be lifted up.
Thank you to all of you who regularly gave me your encouragement and support. Praise God for the blessings that He has made available to all who will receive them. God's goodness will reign for eternity.

I want to thank you, Arlee, for being the inspiration behind the challenge. God has used the A to Z to direct my writing and to connect me with so many wonderful kindred spirits in the faith. Your words at this blog gave me cause to pause and reflect on my own commitment. Thank you for going to the extra effort to write these posts for the A to Z.
ReplyDeleteBlessings!

I think in many ways we of a common mindset inspire each other, so I will have to thank you as well.

Thank you, Arlee. This is exactly what I needed to reinforce what I believe the purpose of my blogging is. You are a blessing and A to Z has been a blessing and I truly believe the Holy Spirit inspired you to begin it in the first place. Thank you for being obedient. God bless, Maria at Delight Directed Living
ReplyDeleteI think your presence in so many comment sections has been a blessing to many. We never know who we might influence in some way do we.

Thank you for writing this. I've become much more spiritual over the past year and my writing reflects this. A few times I wondered if maybe I was overdoing it - maybe I would turn people away. But then I thought, who cares? If someone visits my blog, sees a bible verse and decides he or she doesn't want to stay - then my blog just isn't for them. I want to be authentic. It's about the writing and being purposeful. For me, it's not about the number of comments or the number of followers. I just want to be true to myself. I'm glad that we can be ourselves here.

We've got to say what we've got to say. If you aren't true to yourself then you have to wonder what you're doing. I think you're on the right track.

Thank you for putting this together. I had a great time and look forward to next year.
ReplyDeleteYou're right about faith blogs, Lee. Mine gets very little traffic, compared to my other blogs. Still I feel the need to share the one thing in life that keeps me going no matter what, my faith. I didn't make it to your blogs every day. I felt I needed to make the rounds to everyone else as much as possible. This blog is so uplifting and inspirational. I enjoy following it and learning from you. Thanks for putting it out there. You're right about the seeds and the people who stop by couldn't be more appreciated. Best of the weekend to you!
ReplyDeleteI agree with your sentiments... We just never know how one post might meet someone's need and give them the hope and truth they are looking for. I've enjoyed the Challenge for 2 years now and have met some wonderful people. Thanks for setting up the A-Z Challenge!
ReplyDeleteYou ROCK!! I enjoyed your posts. The Challenge was fun, I had a great time. I will definitely do it again next year.

Congrats on your A to Z achievement(s), and while I'm not religious at all I commend you for being there for others who are looking for something that you are providing here. :)

Congrats on your visitors.
I'm with what everyone said here. You have to write what's on your heart, and if you are a believer, Christ is what's on your heart. I think we all hope our writing can touch another heart. Thanks, Arlee, for being an inspiration to so many. :-)
