Worship (Elements of Existence) #AtoZChallenge

Ascribe to the Lord, you heavenly beings,
ascribe to the Lord glory and strength.
 Ascribe to the Lord the glory due his name;
worship the Lord in the splendor of his holiness.

Psalm 29:1-2
New International Version (NIV)

People worship many things--material possessions, celebrities, and even each other.  We have a tendency to elevate others, our activities, and our possessions to a point of keen longing for them when they are apart from us.  Our adulation is often misplaced.  Things and people pass through our lives.  They are temporal while God is eternal.

Our eternal God is worthy of our feelings of most profound love and devotion and it is to Him that we should direct our worship.  Love our families and friends in the sense that they should be loved.  Enjoy our possessions and experiences but always keep them in perspective of the short-lived things that they are.   But set your eternal sights on Almighty God.  Worship Him for He is Lord.

Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful, and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe,  for our “God is a consuming fire.”
Hebrews 12:28-29
New International Version (NIV)

The One Majestic Ruler of All

Lord, our Lord,
how majestic is your name in all the earth!

Psalm 8:9

New International Version (NIV)

There is no earthly power that comes close to our Sovereign God.   To place our complete trust and faith in some monarch, president, caliph, pope, or any other leader of world or religious affairs is foolish.  Humans are below God as is all of the creation of the Almighty Creator.  Worshipping temporal entities or even the elements that have existed for eons makes no sense when considered from the aspect of spiritual logic.

There is one God, one Creator, and one Holy of all Holies.   If you are worshipping anyone or anything else then you are worshipping passing fancy and meaningless exultation.   Who do you hold on high?   Will that "god" be around tomorrow?   A million years from now?   Has that "god" answered any of your prayers?   Comforted you in your times of greatest need?

Consult the Holy Bible with your mind and heart open.   You can find answers.   And if the One Holy Lord God is with you then you will find answers.  This is the greatest logic for those who have found true wisdom.

Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy,
To the only wise God our Saviour, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever. Amen.

Jude 1:24-25

King James Version (KJV)

My tears have been my food
    day and night,
while people say to me all day long,
    “Where is your God?”

Psalm 42:3

New International Version (NIV)

I think a good many people believe that God, if He exists, is aloof and doesn't care about us.  We often hear the scoffers say things like, "If God really cares so much then why does he let bad things happen to the world".   Maybe it's time to stop blaming God for the bad things and start recognizing the bad choices that people have made since the beginning of time.

We can question the goodness or the aloofness all we want, but it still doesn't make us any better or absolve us from taking responsibility for the wrong things that we do.  Evil, pain, and natural disaster are all part of a process that started with our first rebellion against God.

Bad things will always happen in the current order of the universe.  God is good. The future is good and we should rejoice in that.

But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him.  God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.”

John 4:23-24

New King James Version (NKJV)

Worship ( #atozchallenge )

If you're feeling down, tired, depressed, or alone, perhaps you need a good dose of worship!

Forget the energy drinks and power pills.  You need to energize with the power of God!

Worship should be directed toward God, but it is not just for God.  Worship is for you too.  Worship can bring you closer to God and will bring God closer to you.   Whether you worship alone, at church, or in a crowd of thousands, God will be there.

A good worship from the core of your being can lift you up to rise above all that might be burdening you.  It can clear your thinking and purify your spirit.  Like a dead battery getting a recharge, you can get back the energy that you need to strengthen your faith and help you stay in step on the path to God's Kingdom.

Not a believer yet?   Try worshiping anyway.  Attend a worship service that suits you.  Sing, praise, and lift up your hands.  If you don't find God, perhaps He'll find you to let you know He's listening.

Worship can do a body good.   And it's especially good for the mind and spirit.
