Decision (Elements of Existence)

Multitudes, multitudes
in the valley of decision!
For the day of the Lord is near
in the valley of decision.

Joel 3:14
New International Version (NIV)

In the Garden of Eden Adam and Eve were presented with one decision--whether or not to eat of the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil.   They made the wrong decision and the Universe has been corrupted by sin ever since.  The act of sin is a decision that each of us continues to face on a daily basis.  We are tempted and our decision is the choice between life or death.

When we make that life or death decision our bodies don't usually literally die at that moment, but we are dead to God unless we make that next decision to repent of our sinful nature, ask forgiveness, and accept Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior.  It's a simple choice that is made difficult by our fallen human nature.

God allows us our existence here on Earth.  His only requirement is that we choose to accept or reject His way to eternal life with Him.   If we turn away from God then that is our final decision.   To ignore the choice and make no decision is a decision not to accept God as Lord

Have you made your decision yet?  If your answer is no then what is it that you are waiting for?

And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.
Hebrews 11:6
New International Version (NIV)

  1. Yes, made that decision. I am glad that God gives us a choice and respects our choice. I'm glad I made the right decision.

  2. The decision for those having not made one yet gets harder and harder. The evil one is very good at convincing fools that it isn't a choice so much as a limited lifestyle versus a full one. The concept that, if there is a Satan, he would set things up exactly that way is lost on them.

  3. Hello there.
God does indeed command respect and obedience, He created us afterall. He doesn't owe us anything, but we owe Him a great deal. One thing He also expects is that we make His name known, a name greater than any other name in the entire universe and that name is Jehovah (Psalms 83:18; 9:10). Jesus knew his Father's Name and even taught us how to pray for that Name to be sanctified in the opening of the Lord's Prayer (Matthew 6:9, 10).
    Thanks for sharing.
