Are You Afraid?

What Would Jesus Say to this Fig Bush?

Surely the righteous will never be shaken;
    they will be remembered forever.
They will have no fear of bad news;
    their hearts are steadfast, trusting in the Lord.
Psalm 112:6-7
New International Version (NIV)

      We certainly get more than enough bad news if we watch television, listen to the radio, read the newspaper, or wherever it may be that we get updates on what's going on around us in the world.  When it's not the natural events, it's the woes that humans bring upon themselves.  If what's happening in the world doesn't kill us first, it's possible the stress of worry will.

        It can be so difficult not to be upset about things.  When the threats are far away they don't seem so bad, but when they get closer to home we may begin to get more concerned.   But let's face it, sometimes there's not much you can do about the bad things.   We have this life to live and we need to make the best with what we have while we have it.

         Our lives are short by the standards of the history of the world.  These troubles that we may be facing now will not always be with us.   Get your peace where real peace of mind and spirit dwells.  Give your heart into the heart of God.

Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.

John 14:27

New International Version (NIV)

  1. Yes Lee the world is full of troubles and fear must come to those who live nearby,
    There is also the fear of certain illnesses that people get afraid of (I am one of them).

    Have a peaceful Sunday,
    Yvonne.
