Daniel Amos
One of my top ten favorite Christian rock groups is Daniel Amos. Actually I'd put them in the top ten of my favorite rock groups period. Under the guidance of Terry Scott Taylor, Daniel Amos has produced an eclectic body of work over the past 30 some years. Anything ranging from country to new wave rock and roll. The evolution of the group has been fun to follow and for me they've never made a musical misstep.

Great Lee, when I saw the name Daniel thought for a moment it was another one.
ReplyDeleteEnjoyed the video.
Yvonne.
Home run! My favourite on any list for lyrics alone. An excellent choice. The song you chose is certainly "pop". It doesnt really represent the range of what they do though, as Lee says in his post.
ReplyDeleteOoh, I love this. Never heard them before -- haven't been listening for new music lately. Thanks for the recommendation.

Nice blog and great idea for the A to Z Challenge! There is some great Christian music out there and like you mentioned in one post, you don't even know it's Christian until you really listen to the words.
ReplyDeleteNice song have never heard them before. Definately worth stopping by your blog to listen to them:)
ReplyDeleteInteresting post for D Arlee.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the common of my A on GAC a-z for my A-Z April 2012 challenge entry.
I meant "comment" not common (typo error) sorry
DeleteHi, Lee, Somehow (and this is not a criticism) I just can't understand what a lot of the popular singers nowadays are saying when they are singing. I don't think that my ears are built for it. I like the beat and the sound of the music, just can't catch the words. Lee, you are mighty prolific in having so many blogs. Hats off to you! Ruby
ReplyDeleteI never listened to any Christian Rock - but did enjoy this. I admit I had a hard time hearing the words too - but enjoyed the beat!
ReplyDeleteYvonne -- Definitely different from Danny boy.
ReplyDeleteRon -- I knew I'd get a thumbs up from you.
Erin -- This song was released in the late 90s I believe, but Terry Scott Taylor is still active in the music scene.
Shelly -- The label "Christian" shouldn't turn anyone off if the music is good. Handel's "Messiah" is certainly Christian music and it's attained a great deal of recognition from all quarters.
Grl -- Glad you made it by.
Pa Ul -- Glad your link got fixed so I could visit.
Grammy -- I know what you're saying about lyrics. Sometimes it takes several listens to start understanding. Then of course a lyric sheet helps.
Donna -- It does have a good beat and I suppose you could even dance to it.
Lee
I've never hear of them before, but I like them. Thanks for sharing this video.
ReplyDeletei liked it, sounded happy. couldn't really understand the words, but i have trouble with that in general if i can't see mouths moving...
ReplyDeleteSusanne and Vic -- Thanks for dropping by and leaving a comment.
