Phil Keaggy
One of the most eclectic of all Christian music artists, Phil Keaggy came on the scene in the late 1960s and formed the group Glass Harp. While noted for his expertise as a guitar player, Keaggy is a superb songwriter and is a singer with a pleasant mellow voice. His music ranges from sounding similar to anyone from the Beatles to Pat Metheny.
With something like fifty albums to his credit, Keaggy has a substantial catalog of vocal and instrumental music. I have several of his albums and one is as good as the next--I can't pick one that is an absolute favorite. "Let Everything Else Go" is a lovely song I first heard on the album Way Back Home, an album I listened to many times in my days on the road.

ReplyDeleteYvonne.

ReplyDeleteI don't think I've ever heard of Phil Keaggy! Thanks for introducing me and thanks for stopping by my blog!!
ReplyDeleteDefinitely remember Phil Keaggy, too.
ReplyDeleteAgain, Lee.
ReplyDeleteI used to have almost all of his stuff, but I can't keep up over the last ten years. I have seen him three or four times in concert too, and that is even better. The last time was outside in August about ten minutes from our house but it was so cold, we could barely stand it. At least I got to take my wife and daughter to that one.
I never heard of that guy before!

Angela --Keaggy does have a nice voice and an incredible mastery of the guitar. He also writes excellent songs.
ReplyDeleteTrisha -- I'm having a difficult time reciprocating comments, but managing to keep posts current. I try to prewrite posts as much as possible
Sue H -- This song brings back memories from my younger days though not neccessarily what I'd call my youth. See above response to Trisha about the blogs.

My husband and son saw Phil in concert Friday night. They had special tickets that allowed them backstage, which was a dream come true for my bass playing husband! He was part of a Christian rock band named "HeavenBound"
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing your blog with us, Arlee...I signed up early on!
