Terry Scott Taylor

I guess I could have listed Terry Scott Taylor under every letter of the alphabet.  I mean this guy steals the show when it comes to contemporary Christian music.  He has been an integral part of legendary Christian rock bands like Daniel Amos, The Swirling Eddies, and Lost Dogs.   He's done several albums under his name alone and produced or had some hand in many other albums.  Let's face it--Terry Scott Taylor is one prolific dude.

And he's good too.  His music reflects a variety of styles.  His songs are smartly written.  Every project that he touches has something that appeals to someone out here in listening land.  I would count Terry Scott Taylor in the top ten of my favorite rock artists--make that top 5.

  1. Thanks for all the intros to Christian rock. I had no idea there were so many groups and singers. Perhaps I need to crawl out from under my rock.

  2. Another good singer, one I have never heard of but loved what I did hear.

  3. A great salute to an unknown soldier.
Phil Keaggy, your K post from a few letters ago, had a touch and go time in the hospital this weekend, but apparently has been allowed home. FYI.

  4. I'd not heard of him before but this is a lovely song. Thanks for sharing.

  5. Thank you! You have introduced me to new Christian music, and for that I am grateful. I will be checking it out soon. Yesterday, part of our discussion at church was about the scripture saying sing a new song - and how can I do that if I don't allow or make a way for new music in my life? Good post

  6. Em -- For just about every existing style of music there is a comparable Christian artist. And many of them are very good.

Yvonne -- Taylor is an outstanding musical artist.

Ron -- Hadn't heard the Keaggy news, but I guess that's not the sort of thing that gets reported in the mainstream.

Rosalind -- It is a very beautiful song.

Elizabeth -- The old songs are nice, but we should be open to the new songs as well. I like that verse.

  7. Thanks for the introduction. I like!
